隆El Futuro Is Here! draws from the methodologies that have emerged from Latinx faith communities. The advisory team who devised the conference structure astutely read the signs of the times and imagined spaces and experiences that would attend to the sense of familia that we achieved in our first conference and also utilize some of the great, new virtual approaches that have been innovated during the pandemic.
On the first day, we invited participants to explore the ways that relationship and relational structures鈥攆amilia, cuentos, recuerdos, y communidades鈥攁re critical ways of knowing that can and do shape our ministries. On the second day, we explored the depth and breadth of latinidad across the United States hearing from Hispanic Serving Institutions on their practices with culturally responsive ministry. We closed the distance by breaking bread with one another sharing comida y conversaci贸n. Our closing told the stories of the ancestro/as and familiares who we celebrate and honor as we pray with la comuni贸n de los Santos.
