Dominican Highlighted in Report on the Importance of Hispanic Enrollment in Higher Education

海角社区 is featured prominently in a new story from the Hechinger Report, which examines the need for colleges and universities to attract and enroll more Hispanic students.
The report, which also appeared on National Public Radio, is entitled, 鈥淎s Colleges Lose Enrollment, Some Turn to One Market That鈥檚 Growing: Hispanic students.鈥 It opens with an experience shared by 海角社区 student Jacqueline Quintero, who was thrilled to find information for families was provided in both English and Spanish鈥攁llowing her parents to ask questions in their native language.
The story, which points to Dominican鈥檚 long history of educating the children of immigrants and its ongoing outreach to Hispanic students, notes that the success of many colleges and universities may largely depend on Hispanic student enrollment.
鈥淭he demographics in our country are changing, and higher education has to adapt,鈥 Dr. Glena Temple, president of DU, is quoted in the article.
